Iranian movie ‘Orange Days’ is to vie at the upcoming edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival.

Iranian movie ‘Orange Days’ is set to compete at the upcoming edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival.

The movie will take part in the World Cinema section of the 43rd edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF).

Directed by Arash Lahouti, ‘Orange Days’ narrates the story of Aban, the only female contractor in the cutthroat and male-dominated orange harvesting industry, who enters a competition to win a large contract. Her efforts remain futile while anyone involved in her story tries to fail her.

The flick stars Hediyeh Tehrani, Ali Mosaffa and Mehran Ahmadi among others.

The participation in HKIFF marks the movie’s 18th international appearance.

It has gone on screen at several international events, including the 14th Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, the 18th Calgary International Film Festival in Canada, the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, the 42nd São Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil, the 2018 Torun International Film Festival (TOFIFEST) in Poland, the 2018 MedFilm Festival in Italy, the 8th Malatya International Film Festival in Turkey, and the 16th Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) in India.

‘Orange Days’ brought Tehrani the Best Actress award of the 2018 CineIran Festival in Canada; and won three awards at the 67th Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in Germany.

This year’s edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival will kick off on March 18 and run until April 1.
